Vermont Integrative Veterinary Associates provide medical and surgical services for pets at our clinic and livestock at your stable, commonly including horses, cattle, llamas, alpacas, sheep, goats, pigs and farm-raised deer.

Most soft-tissue surgery at VIVA, including spays, neuters, eyes and eyelids, tumors and much more is performed using a carbon-dioxide surgical laser. The laser is portable, allowing its use for certain procedures at the farm or stable.

2012 marks the opening of our rehabilitation and physical therapy facility!

Our most exciting new feature is our underwater treadmill. We also have many physical therapy tools such as a cold laser, balance boards, cavaletti poles, etc. We will use these tools along with complementing them with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medication as needed or desired.

There are many pets that can benefit from rehabilitation and physical therapy. A short list of those types of animals include older or arthritic dogs, overweight dogs, dogs recovering from orthopedic and other major surgeries including cruciate ligament injuries (both pre- and post- operatively), degenerative myelopathy, canine athletes including agility, service and police dogs and dogs who could use additional exercise during the colder months of the year.

The general goals for rehabilition and physical therapy include regaining or maintaining strength, mobility and balance; the goals for surgical patients are to speed recovery time. We also develop specific goals for each animal, and tailor those goals to also achieve the owner's objectives as well.

Please contact our office if you would like additional information about these services, our availability and prices.
